Sermons on Hope (Page 4)
The Beginning of the End
John again sees a great sign in heaven in this chapter. It’s the unfolding of God’s final wave of judgment. All things are finally getting taken care of in God’s timing – the injustices in the world and the wickedness at work. His kingdom is coming and it’s the beginning of the end for that which is opposed to God.

Faith and the Future
Jeremiah is called to do something peculiar especially as the Babylonians are closing in around Jerusalem – he’s called to buy some property. This would require a step of faith as this didn’t make any sense from a human perspective. But the Lord assures him that there is nothing too hard for the Lord to do. And so we see the future plans that God has for His people.

A Future and a Hope
Jeremiah writes a letter to the captives in Babylon to encourage them in the situation they are in. God has a word for them that His plans are of peace and not of evil. His plans are to give them a future and a hope. This word is a comforting one for all those who are going through times of uncertainty and difficulty. God is working out His good and perfect purposes in it all.

Two Witnesses and a Temple
John is instructed to measure out the temple which makes it clear that sometime between now and the Tribulation the Jews will have their temple rebuilt. It’s been almost 2000 years since they’ve had it, but we’re moving closer to that becoming a reality. And God will be sure to have His witness go forth during this time through His two witnesses endued with supernatural power.

A Word to the False Prophets
Jeremiah was continually battling people not taking him seriously. What made things worse is that there were false prophets completely contradicting the things he was saying. But in this chapter, God has a word for these false prophets. Better to stick to the true superior word of God than to listen to that which is inferior.

Sealed, Sent, & Secure
Revelation 7 shows God sealing 144,000 of His servants during the Tribulation. This is incredible because God is continuing to have the Gospel shared even while His judgment is being poured out. This is evident with the multitude we’ll see entering heaven in the second part of Chapter 7.
