Prepare to be inspired and equipped as we are reminded of the importance of a biblical worldview in education.
Together, we will explore and ponder the following questions:
- What is the purpose of education?
- What kind of students do we want to enter the world?
- How can we help reshape education so that students enter the world well-equipped?
- How do we create a lasting effect?
- How can education influence our culture for Christ?
- What role do parents, families, and our elders have in education?
The purpose of this event is to gather anyone who understands how important education is and how it affects both individuals and our communities at large. Please plan to attend this important and potentially life-changing event!

Keynote Speakers:
Pastor Brent Smith
Brent Smith is the lead pastor of Riverside Calvary Chapel, a church he planted in 2002 in Langley, British Columbia. He’s been in full time pastoral ministry since 1995 and has had the joy of being a part of church plants locally and internationally. He has a heart for people to be equipped through the Word and going forth with the gospel. Brent and his wife Michelle have been married for 30 years and have 4 adult, married children. Brent and Michelle love spending time with their 4 grandchildren and look forward to a bunch more to come!
Pastor Matt Rowan
Matt Rowan has served in pastoral ministry for over 25 years. He is the husband of Lisa, they have three adult children. Matt serves as the Lead Pastor of Christ the King Community Church on the Sunshine Coast. He is passionate for the kingdom of God, the outdoors, and seeing the church reengage with all things regarding education. Under his leadership the church has become active in finding education solutions for the purpose of making disciples.
Tanya Gaw
Tanya is a committed Christian and defender of faith, family, and freedom.
Tanya is the founder of Action4Canada which is a national, not for profit organization committed to upholding the Canadian constitution and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Tanya began her journey in 2015 in response to the government passing legislation that severely impacted Canadian democracy and freedom. Tanya has been working to give the silent majority a voice through letter writing campaigns, petitions and lobbying government. Tanya has also been on the frontline of the battle to protect our children’s hearts and minds since 2015 and the Action4Canada team have achieved great wins in shutting down SOGI 123 in Saskatchewan and getting the sexually explicit books removed in Alberta in 2025. Action4Canada not only educates people on what is happening, they effectively equip, encourage and mobilize Canadians to take action. Tanya’s greatest mission is to declare that Canada is founded on Judeo Christian biblical principles, forming our laws and our values, and provides a system of governance that sets us apart from totalitarian, extremist and communist regimes. Because of it…we have the freedom to believe…or not to believe…without fear of persecution, oppression, and even death.
Dr. Rick Martin
Rick grew up as a pastor’s kid in Virginia and his wife Annette grew up on a farm in Iowa. They met while attending college in Virginia and were married in 1990. They welcomed their first child in 1994 and had their 5th child in 2003. They now have 3 married and 6 grandchildren. As a family, they enjoy hanging out together, taking walks, and exploring God’s creation through hiking and non-rugged camping. Annette is a registered nurse and teaches LPN students in the public school system and they live in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley 90 miles south of Washington DC. Over the past 35 years, Rick has served three different Christian schools and walked alongside teachers, parents, and students in the educational process. Rick currently is the head of school in a K-12 Christian school and also serves as the dean for the college of education at Calvary Chapel University. In both settings, Rick seeks to equip others and cheer them on to fulfill the call that God has upon their lives. Rick believes that training this emerging generation is a privilege and a responsibility. As parents, grandparents, and the family of God, we have a front-row seat to see God at work every day. Rick’s prayer and life verse is found in Ephesians 3:20 “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”
Pastor Kevin Cavanaugh
Pastor Kevin Cavanuagh is the Father of 3, a Grandfather of 9, and Husband of 1- Cynthia (for the past 47 years). He has been in ministry for over 4 decades, 24 of which he served as the Lead Pastor of Cedar Grove Church in Surrey, British Columbia. A multicultural church, that before stepping down, had over 55 nations in attendance. He led the Surrey Pastors Network, a weekly prayer gathering for nearly 20 years and hasgiven leadership at both a regional and national level to issues facing the church in Canada. He has a passion for the Church, a love for pastors, and a burden for our Nation. Kevin now serves at the Executive Director of Free To Care. An international ministry dedicated to supporting pastors, educators, leaders, and fellow-Christ followers who desire to uphold a biblical worldview in a post-biblical world.

Greg Needham
Greg spent over a decade as a Vice President at a Christian university in Canada before joining Teach Beyond, an international missions organization. There, he partnered with educators, parents, and missionaries in more than forty countries to launch and improve Christian education initiatives. While Greg mainly focuses on operations, infrastructure, and development, his true passion lies in helping children discover Christ and grow with a Biblical worldview—embracing the motto, “all truth is God’s truth.” Recently, he helped start the Canadian Christian Education Movement, aiming to involve every Bible-believing church in Canada in Christ-centered education. Greg and his wife Joyce now enjoy life on their acreage with their two daughters, sons-in-law, and four grandchildren—proving that, education, faith and family make quite the team.
