Jesus Is Alive, Are You?

Was Mark 16:9-20 a part of Mark’s original writing? We take a look at this to begin and then get into what is said in these verses and how they are a call to us to follow today. Bible Text: Mark 16:9-20

Significant Insignificance

The fact that Jesus stepped out of heaven to come to this world to save us is amazing enough. But how He did it and the things or people He used spoke of bringing such significance to that which was often overlooked. There’s great encouragement for us today as we look at these things in this message.

Questioning God’s Goodness – Part 3

We conclude the book of Malachi looking at this debate between God and the people of Israel continue to unfold. God is calling them back to faithfulness, as He reveals His faithfulness to them. Bible Text: Malachi 3:7-4:6

The Resurrection of Jesus

We look at the scene going on at the empty tomb as the women come to anoint Jesus’ body. They’re startled and amazed as they learn that Jesus has risen! May we too be amazed as we look in at the empty tomb – Jesus is alive! Bible Text: Mark 16:1-8

The Crucifixion of Jesus

The crucifixion is examined in this sermon unpacking for us what happened on that day at Calvary and what was accomplished for us through the cross. Bible Text: Mark 15:22-47

Questioning God’s Goodness – Part 1

God speaks out to the people a number of years after they have returned from exile. Sadly they have slipped back into ways of sin and rebellion. God calls out to them through the prophet Malachi and their response is one of questioning – ‘What are you taking about?’ So we witness this debate unfold ultimately so that God can led them back to a right relationship with Him. Bible Text: Malachi 1:1-2:9

Jesus: Man for all Mankind

We look at the civil trial that Jesus undergoes as the Jews seek to bring Him to Pilate, the Roman authority, so that he would find fault and issue the death penalty. Pilate however marvels at such a Man who endured so much and kept moving with a resolved focus of the cross. Bible Text: Mark 15:1-21

Priority Adjustment

A group of Jews returned back to Israel after their exile in Babylon. They were to return and work on the rebuilding of the temple. But soon opposition set in and distraction came, and the rebuilding work sat idle for 15 years. Haggai the prophet comes along to speak to the people and cause them to see that their priorities have been out of line. So he speaks into their situation and gives much encouragement as well as the temple building is resumed and completed shortly after. A definite word for us today as our priorities often times need adjusting. Haggai 1:1-2:23

Disputed, Dismissed, & Denied

Jesus is led away from the Garden of Gethsemane where his unjust trial begins. False accusations are given, but none of the witnesses can line their stories up. Finally Jesus admits that He is God, and allows the religious leaders to charge Him with blasphemy. It’s what must happen for Him to go to the cross. Jesus is in full control. We conclude with the story of Peter’s denial. Sad as it was, we’re reminded that Jesus never writes us off. Mark 14:53-72

Judgment to Joy

Zephaniah leads us through upcoming judgment that will come against Judah and Jerusalem. And not only to them, but to all nations that have walked in rebellion to God. But as always in the message of the Lord, there is hope. The Lord always has His remnant of people that will be faithful. And this is available to all who turn to the Lord. This judgment can turn to joy! Bible Text: Zephaniah 1:1-3:20

Panicked or Praying?

In this passage we look at the Proud, the Praying, and the Panicked. In the midst of overconfidence and panic, Jesus teaches the importance of prayer. It’s a crucial time in Jesus’ life as He prepares for the cross, yet He takes time to go the Father. A priority that should be followed in every believer. Bible Text: Mark 14:27-52
