Comfort for the Captives

Chapters 30-33 of Jeremiah make up what’s called the ‘Book of Consolation’. It’s a word of encouragement and comfort to the captives that God will bring about a great restoration. And it will extend to the last days when God will bring back in fullness the Jewish people back to their land. Bible Text: Jeremiah 30:1-31:30

A Future and a Hope

Jeremiah writes a letter to the captives in Babylon to encourage them in the situation they are in. God has a word for them that His plans are of peace and not of evil. His plans are to give them a future and a hope. This word is a comforting one for all those who are going through times of uncertainty and difficulty. God is working out His good and perfect purposes in it all. Bible Text: Jeremiah 29

Two Witnesses and a Temple

John is instructed to measure out the temple which makes it clear that sometime between now and the Tribulation the Jews will have their temple rebuilt. It’s been almost 2000 years since they’ve had it, but we’re moving closer to that becoming a reality. And God will be sure to have His witness go forth during this time through His two witnesses endued with supernatural power. Bible Text: Revelation 11:1-8

Is The Yoke On You?

The first 25 chapters of Jeremiah focus on the message of God. Sadly it was one of impending judgment if they didn’t repent. As we move into Jeremiah 26, the next few chapters focus on the people’s response to the message. It brought opposition and aggression. It was clear the people were not ready to repent. And Jeremiah continued to give out God’s Word and showed them what they needed to do to be spared. They could either submit to God’s Word or succumb to His judgment. Bible text: Jeremiah 26-28

The Angel and the Book

John sees an angel come down and set his feet upon the land and sea. In his hand is a book that John is told to take and eat. Who is this angel and what is this book? We answer these questions and more as we look at this interlude between the 6th and 7th trumpet judgments. Bible Text: Revelation 10

Trumpet Time – part 2

The fifth and sixth trumpet judgments are released in Revelation 9 and it brings an onslaught of demonic activity and torment. To reject heaven is to choose hell and here a world that has rejected God is getting a taste of what hell is like. God is providing a better way and giving people an opportunity to turn to Him. Bible Text: Revelation 9:1-21

A Word to the False Prophets

Jeremiah was continually battling people not taking him seriously. What made things worse is that there were false prophets completely contradicting the things he was saying. But in this chapter, God has a word for these false prophets. Better to stick to the true superior word of God than to listen to that which is inferior. Bible Text: Jeremiah 23:9-40

Trumpet Time – part 1

As the seventh seal is opened, it reveals the trumpet judgments to come and heaven suddenly turns silent for half an hour. It’s an ominous moment as the judgment of God increases, yet heaven sees God answering the prayers of the saints: Your Kingdom come! Bible Text: Revelation 8:1-13

A Word to the Kings

Jeremiah’s ministry overlapped the reign of the last 5 kings of Judah. The last four were wicked kings and in this study we see Jeremiah speaking to these 4 kings. It ultimately leads us to the final King that will come and establish a true reign of righteousness! Bible Text: Jeremiah 21:1-23:8

Sealed, Sent, & Secure

Revelation 7 shows God sealing 144,000 of His servants during the Tribulation. This is incredible because God is continuing to have the Gospel shared even while His judgment is being poured out. This is evident with the multitude we’ll see entering heaven in the second part of Chapter 7. Bible Text: Revelation 7

The Potter, Prophet, & Policeman

Jeremiah is directed to go down to the Potters house and there he would find the potter at work. Through what Jeremiah saw the Lord would speak to him and give some practical insights to what God was doing with the nation. We also look at some practical application for us as clay in the Potters hand. Bible Text: Jeremiah 18-20
