2 Chronicles 1-36
Wednesday Night Series: The Bible From 30,000 Feet
2 Chronicles 36 – The Fall Of Jerusalem
Our study in 2 Chronicles comes to an end with the steady decline of the spiritual condition of Judah. They eventually are defeated and taken captive to Babylon. But the book ends with great hope! God is not done with Israel and He’s not done with any of us!
2 Chronicles 34:29-35:27 – Josiah’s Commitment To The Word
Josiah continues on cleaning house in Judah and bringing the people into a renewed covenant with God’s Word.
2 Chronicles 33:1-34:28 – The Two Paths Of Manasseh And Josiah
We take a look at two different kings – Manasseh and Josiah. Manasseh did wicked, but Josiah did what was right. Manasseh paid a price for his wickedness, but by God’s grace he eventually humbled himself and was restored. Josiah however prospered greatly for his devotion to God.
2 Chronicles 31-32 – Countering The Enemy and Counting On God
Under Hezekiah’s reign the people continue to grow in their devotion and commitment to God. And soon after this increased faithfulness, the enemy came to trip them up. We see how Hezekiah responded and look at some good lessons for us in this.
2 Chronicles 29:31-30:27 – Passover Protocol
We see the continued reforms by Hezekiah as he sends out word throughout all Israel to join together to celebrate the Passover for the first time in a long time. It makes a great difference when we remember the work of God in our lives and take time to worship Him.
2 Chronicles 29:1-30 – Removing Decay And Restoring Devotion
We look at how King Hezekiah comes onto the scene and recognizes all the decay that’s taken place both spiritually and politically in the land. We take a look at what he does about this and how we can learn from his actions.
2 Chronicles 28 – A Nation Exalted Or Expired?
Solomon said that righteousness exalts a nation. But we look at the reverse of that in this chapter as we see the wickedness of king Ahaz and the effect of that in Judah. We discuss how that parallels with our nation and how we are to respond.
2 Chronicles 26-27 – Uzziah’s Pride
King Uzziah begins well in his reign, but soon began to think he was the reason for his success. He became prideful and overstepped his boundaries. And the Lord had to deal with Him by some interesting means. It’s a reminder for us that God is our strength, and He should get all the glory for all we do.
2 Chronicles 25 – Having A Loyal Heart
King Amaziah comes on to the scene and it says he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a loyal heart. And that made all the difference in the world. He was led into compromise and eventually puffed up with pride. A divided heart will lead you into unnecessary trouble.
2 Chronicles 23-24 – The Ups And Downs Of Joash
Joash was a king in Judah that started off well but didn’t have so great of a finish. What happened? We’ll take a look at this in our study and examine some things we need to be careful of as well.
2 Chronicles 21-22 – Two Kings And A Queen
Jehoram and then Ahaziah reign in Judah and they continue to carry out wickedness and suffer in the process. And then Ahaziah’s mother, Athaliah, steps to the throne after wiping out all but one of her grandchildren. Ruthless practices that will not bring about any kind of blessing or benefit.
