Dead End In Egypt

Tonight we look at those that trusted in their way rather than following God’s way. A remnant left in Judah after Babylon’s conquest decided to seek refuge in Egypt. This isn’t what God had for them and it will not end well for them. Bible Text: Jeremiah 43-46

Promise Breakers and Keepers

In chapter 34 we take a look at a covenant that the people of Judah were not upholding. It displayed their disobedience to Gods Word. In chapter 35 we’re given a great contrast of a group of people who were faithful to carry out a command given them. The people of Israel were without excuse. There is great blessing in being a promise keeper rather than a promise breaker! Bible Text: Jeremiah 34-35

Faith and the Future

Jeremiah is called to do something peculiar especially as the Babylonians are closing in around Jerusalem – he’s called to buy some property. This would require a step of faith as this didn’t make any sense from a human perspective. But the Lord assures him that there is nothing too hard for the Lord to do. And so we see the future plans that God has for His people. Bible Text: Jeremiah 32-33

The New Covenant

What a great passage we have before us. God reveals that He will do a new work through a new covenant. So what about the Old Covenant? When does the New Covenant take effect? Who’s the New Covenant for? We’ll answer these questions and more in this study. Bible Text: Jeremiah 31:31-40

Comfort for the Captives

Chapters 30-33 of Jeremiah make up what’s called the ‘Book of Consolation’. It’s a word of encouragement and comfort to the captives that God will bring about a great restoration. And it will extend to the last days when God will bring back in fullness the Jewish people back to their land. Bible Text: Jeremiah 30:1-31:30

A Future and a Hope

Jeremiah writes a letter to the captives in Babylon to encourage them in the situation they are in. God has a word for them that His plans are of peace and not of evil. His plans are to give them a future and a hope. This word is a comforting one for all those who are going through times of uncertainty and difficulty. God is working out His good and perfect purposes in it all. Bible Text: Jeremiah 29

Is The Yoke On You?

The first 25 chapters of Jeremiah focus on the message of God. Sadly it was one of impending judgment if they didn’t repent. As we move into Jeremiah 26, the next few chapters focus on the people’s response to the message. It brought opposition and aggression. It was clear the people were not ready to repent. And Jeremiah continued to give out God’s Word and showed them what they needed to do to be spared. They could either submit to God’s Word or succumb to His judgment. Bible text: Jeremiah 26-28

A Word to the False Prophets

Jeremiah was continually battling people not taking him seriously. What made things worse is that there were false prophets completely contradicting the things he was saying. But in this chapter, God has a word for these false prophets. Better to stick to the true superior word of God than to listen to that which is inferior. Bible Text: Jeremiah 23:9-40
